Dubai has an unusually deep luxury rental fleet, and rates that would be hard to find elsewhere. At this end of the market the daily rate is only part of the cost: deposits are considerably higher than on economy cars, minimum rental periods are often longer, and mileage caps bite sooner because the cars get driven further.

How we picked
We take every car categorised as luxury in our Dubai catalogue with a published daily rate and order it from lowest to highest. Higher-performance models are catalogued separately as sports cars and supercars and are not included here. Rates are supplied by the rental company and shown in AED; deposits, Salik and fines are additional and set by each company.

Deposits are much higher than for economy cars and are held on a credit card in the main driver's name, then released after the car is returned and any tolls or fines are settled. The amount is set by each rental company.

Most companies require luxury renters to be at least 25, compared with 21 for standard categories, and may also require that the licence has been held for a minimum period.
