Abu Dhabi introduces new speed limit on E311 starting Monday

A new speed limit is coming into effect on part of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Road (E311), with Abu Dhabi Mobility confirming that the maximum permitted speed will drop from 120km/h to 100km/h. The change will come into effect from Monday, September 14, and will apply to traffic travelling in both directions along the affected section of the road. The revised limit covers the section of E311 identified by Abu Dhabi Mobility between the approaches around Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street and Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street. Drivers using this part of the highway should pay close attention to the updated road signs and make sure they adjust their speed once the new limit takes effect. The reduction means motorists will need to travel at no more than 100km/h along the designated stretch, rather than the current 120km/h limit. Abu Dhabi Mobility has urged road users to follow the revised speed limit and signage when travelling through the area. The speed limit change is not the only traffic update affecting Abu Dhabi roads this weekend. A temporary lane closure has also been announced for Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Street (E11). The two left-hand lanes heading towards Al Shahama will be closed for a limited period, starting at 12am on Sunday, September 13. The closure is scheduled to remain in place until 5am on Monday, September 14.
