Accident Free Day: How UAE drivers can wipe 4 black points off their license

UAE drivers, take note: If you’ve got black points on your license, there’s a way you can get four removed this month. The UAE’s Ministry of Interior has once again declared August 31 Accident Free Day, a nationwide traffic campaign that encourages motorists to stick to traffic rules and avoid accidents. And if you sign up to the pledge to avoid having an accident on Accident Free Day, you could get four black points removed from your license. To do that, you’ll need your Emirates ID to sign up, and then sign a pledge that you will adhere to the road traffic rules on Accident Free Day, such as sticking to the speed limit, maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles, fastening seatbelts, and giving way to emergency vehicles when required. If drivers are successful, they won’t need to do anything further to get their points removed, with four black points automatically deducted on September 25. Drivers who commit traffic violations receive black points on their license, with the number of points dependent on the violation.
