Al Ain Zoo reopens on Sept 5 with Glow After Dark Festival

Al Ain Zoo is reopening on September 5 with a new after-dark experience, giving families a chance to explore the wildlife park in a whole new light. The budget-friendly activity is the perfect day out with the family. Entry tickets to the park are priced at Dhs31.50 for adults, Dhs10.50 for children aged 3 to 12, and free for children under 3. From 5pm to 10pm the zoo will turn into an out-of-this-world experience, with illuminated animal displays, immersive performances and engaging moments for the whole family. Families can also discover the debut of the Nature Venture show, where children and parents can settle in for immersive storytelling, bringing fascinating tales of the animal kingdom to life, once the sun sets. The zoo reopens with new timings, 2pm to 10am, welcoming guests to a range of signature encounters and experiences designed for all ages. These include the popular safari, offering close-up views of African wildlife, with the opportunity to feed giraffes. Guests can also try the Lemur Walk, where they can observe these playful, social primates up close and enjoy a more immersive experience. When hunger strikes, there are plenty of places to refuel, from Zarafa Restaurant’s international menu to quick bites at Oasis Café and Bites Corner. Mexican Fiesta, Asia Express, Wild Burger and Taste of Arabia offer everything from burritos and burgers to Indian and Arabic favourites. On October 10, the famous obstacle course Spartan race will bring together elite athletes, experienced racers, first-time participants and families, the event will see competitors tackle Spartan’s signature challenges surrounded by the sights and sounds of the wild. On Saturday, October 10, the race will feature: • Spartan Sprint (5K) – Competitive Elite, Age Group and Open waves • Spartan Super (10K) – Open waves • Spartan Kids Race – 3K, 1.5K and 1K Open races The course will weave through the expansive grounds of Al Ain Zoo, offering athletes the unique experience of tackling signature obstacles with the sights and sounds of elephants, giraffes and other majestic wildlife in the background.
