Football fans in the UAE, get ready: Cristiano Ronaldo is returning to the country next week – and it could be one of your final chances to see the football legend play live. The Al Nassr captain is set to face Al Ain in the AFC Champions League Elite on Tuesday, September 15, with the match taking place at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain. The fixture is the first of two occasions Ronaldo and Al Nassr will travel to the UAE during the 2026/27 tournament. The second UAE fixture will see Al Nassr take on Shabab Al Ahli in Dubai on February 15, 2027, at Rashid Stadium. Tickets to the match in Al Ain have not been released yet, however, those who purchase an AINAWI Membership 2026/2027 are guaranteed access to the match. Shabab Al Ahli season-ticket holders also have access, although their season-ticket allocation has now sold out, per Gulf News. Fans will need to wait for the clubs to announce details of any remaining general ticket sales. There is an added sense of occasion around Ronaldo’s return. The 41-year-old recently married longtime partner Georgina Rodríguez in an intimate civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, on August 11, with their five children in attendance. And while the football superstar has not yet hung up his boots, the end of his playing career is firmly on the horizon. Ronaldo has spoken about his desire to leave football with a lasting legacy and has indicated that this could be his final season. “This is probably my last year of football, and I want to leave a spectacular legacy,” Ronaldo said recently in an interview with Vogue, five days prior to his wedding. That makes his two upcoming UAE appearances particularly significant for fans who want to see one of the most decorated footballers of his generation in action. After more than two decades at the highest level, Ronaldo has already collected five Ballon d’Or awards and played for some of the biggest clubs in the world, including Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus, before joining Al Nassr.
