Daikan Izakaya to open at The Galleria Al Maryah Island in November

Ramen lovers in Abu Dhabi, get your renge’s ready, Daikan Izakaya is opening up a new licensed location at The Galleria al Maryah Island this November. The fan-favourite concept’s third location in the UAE follows the opening of its branches at Yas Bay Waterfront in Abu Dhabi and C2 City Walk in Dubai. The casual Japanese dining spot brings guests ramen, yakitori and a drink without needing to plan an occasion around it. The restaurant promises plenty more to discover at it’s new venue at The Galleria, from a new menu and signature cocktails to a completely new interior concept, bringing together food, drinks, design and music under one roof. A post shared by Daikan Izakaya (@daikanizakaya_ae) The new Daikan Izakaya takes its cues from the layered density of Tokyo, using different zones, textures and details to create a sense of discovery throughout the restaurant. The concept draws from yokocho alleyways, where densely arranged small spaces each create their own atmosphere, informing the way guests move through and experience the new location. The interiors also take inspiration from boro, the traditional Japanese technique of repairing and layering textiles. Its visible stitching, overlapping textures and irregular patterns are reinterpreted through details across the restaurant, including boro-inspired tiles that create distinct yet interconnected areas. A darker, more intimate material palette brings together dark lacquered wood, stainless steel, cast glass, black granite, basalt stone and denim, adding depth and contrast throughout the space. The Galleria menu will bring together the broader food offering that defines Daikan Izakaya, from ramen and yakitori to dishes designed to be shared around the table. Behind the bar, the drinks programme will include Daikan Izakaya signatures such as the Natsu Martini, Goma Kaze and Genkidama, alongside its signature spritz, the Lichi Paloma.
