Wands at the ready: more details are emerging about the magical Harry Potter theme park in Abu Dhabi. First announced by theme park masters Miral in 2022, the Abu Dhabi Harry Potter land is set to bring a new dimension of wizarding thrills to Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi on Yas Island when it opens in the coming years, with spellbinding attractions, rides and experiences for budding witches and wizards to look forward to. Here’s everything we know so far about Harry Potter Land Abu Dhabi. Well, sort of. Per Forbes, the former Treasures of Hollywood Store on the edge of Warner Bros World’s central plaza has had a Harry Potter takeover, with the store’s shelves now stacked with magical merchandise, from wands and books of spells to t-shirts, scarves and jerseys, all in the signature Hogwarts house emblems. Even the store team are dressed in Hogwarts-style gowns. Based on documents and industry sources, The National reports that the expansion will feature several recognisable elements from the Harry Potter universe. These include the iconic Hogwarts Castle, inevitably set to become the jewel in the Harry Potter land crown, as well as Diagon Alley, where the shops from the much-loved franchise will all await visitors along the cobbled streets. It’s expected that Harry Potter Abu Dhabi will be the world’s first Harry Potter land to have both. A snow-covered Hogsmeade Village, where shops and restaurants will await fans, and an iteration of the chill-inducing Forbidden Forest are also expected to be highlights, per The National. Per Khaleej Times, three rides and attractions are currently listed on Warner Bros. World’s official website for the Harry Potter land, although details on what they could be remain under wraps. Construction on the 40,000 sq m extension of Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi to add Harry Potter land began last year, per MEED. While we don’t have an official opening timeline yet, a recent report from The National indicated it’s expected to open in 2029, citing a consultancy firm working on the project, Entertainment + Culture Advisors.
