We are in the midst of the eclipse season, and the lunar eclipse happening on the night of August 28 is one that definitely needs to be on your radar. Following the rare astronomical event of total solar eclipse and the perseids meteor shower we had on August 12, we are due yet another celestial spectacle. While, we weren’t fortunate enough to watch the solar eclipse from the UAE, we can experience the partial lunar eclipse unfold tonight (or tomorrow). While many may associate the eclipse energy with either groundbreaking shifts or well, rather chaotic outcomes, there’s more to it that meets the eye. But, if your expecting to hear back from an ex – you’re going to have to wait for the Mercury retrograde to come around. And let’s leave that chaotic energy for another time, shall we? This phenomena is simply the result of the earth passing between the moon and the sun, which causes the moon to be well – eclipsed, or in this case turn a dark shade of red – giving it the rare appearance of the blood moon. While this wouldn’t be considered as a total eclipse, only about 96% of the moon is expected to be shadowed by the earth. Leaving a small sliver of illumination to be reflected back on earth. A post shared by Griffith Observatory (@griffithobservatory) Now, the eclipse itself will be happening during the late hours of August 27 to early hours of August 28, which means it might be harder for you to see it in the region. While you are not guaranteed the spectacle, astronomy enthusiasts can still tune into NASA’s official YouTube channel, where they will be live streaming the whole thing. Your next best alternative would the Griffith Observatory stream which is due to start at 6:25pm GST.
