Experience some of your favourite childhood movies in a different kind of screening with Disney+ Live In Concert at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi from December 18 to 20. The concert series will pair four fan-favourite films: Frozen, The Lion King, Encanto and a classic Christmas movie Home Alone 2: Lost in New York – with live performances from the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra. Audiences will hear the films’ brilliant scores and songs performed live in sync with the screenplay, turning nostalgic favourites into a full-scale cinematic concert experience. The UAE-exclusive series kicks off on Friday, December 18 with Encanto. Saturday, December 19, brings a double bill, beginning with Frozen and its goosebump-raising Let It Go, before Home Alone 2: Lost in New York adds its festive chaos to the evening. Expect a live rendition of its unforgettable soundtrack, from Circle of Life to Hakuna Matata, with music by Academy Award and GRAMMY-winning artists Elton John, Tim Rice, and Hans Zimmer, alongside African vocal and choir arrangements by GRAMMY-winning South African producer and composer Lebo M. The orchestra will perform each film’s score live as the action unfolds on the giant screen, adding the scale and emotion of a concert hall to some of Disney’s most recognisable stories. Disney+’s Director Tamim Fares says the series offers a new way to experience beloved stories, calling it an “exciting new chapter” for the platform and that the concert series aims to bring “a lifetime of great stories to audiences in a whole new way.”
