Is UAE about to experience more rainstorms this week? Here’s all we know

Yes, it has been unbearably humid these past couple of days – where we’ve all had to deal with intense condensation across our windows and foggy glasses. But the good news is that summer is nearly over, and there’s even a little sprinkle of rain somewhere in the UAE. The UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology has announced the formation of convective clouds which would be accompanied by rainfall and strong winds across parts of the country today. The forecast also suggests that some eastern and southern areas are to be affected between 2pm and 8pm. So, although this may seem like exciting news to most, the NCM urges all to be cautious while outdoors. But these convective clouds are often also associated with strong downdrafts that could potentially stir up sand and dust, inherently reducing visibility in the affected areas as well. If you somehow get caught up on the road, make sure you are in a safe sheltered space – and drivers, do maintain a safe distance whilst you drive. It’ll be cloudy with a chance of (unfortunately) zero meatballs, but rather convective clouds and afternoon rain. Which technically is a win for the region and those looking forward to the rainfall. Saturday, September 5, might unfortunately bring in some humidity that is said to persist overnight. But this seems like a sign that winter is closer than expected.
