Jaww Spot opens in Abu Dhabi

There’s a new kind of table in town, one that is modern, inclusive, and deeply rooted in the rhythms of the Emirates. Jaww Spot is the newest player in neo-Emirati dining, located in Blooms Garden, Al Muntazah, Abu Dhabi. Named after the Khaleeji word Jaww, meaning atmosphere, mood, or vibe, Jaww Spot captures what Abu Dhabi tastes and feels like today. It is shaped by the movement of people, ideas, and flavours, brought together in a space that feels effortless, grounded, and distinctly contemporary. Brought to life by the team behind Meals on Me, Jaww Spot is born from lived experience. “There really is no traditional history behind Jaww Spot,” says Steve Delpino, former Chef and now Director of Growth for the group. From a deep-rooted connection to faith to the pride felt across every emirate, Delpino describes that the inspiration behind Jaww comes from the UAE’s culture; grounded and welcoming. “Wherever you are in the UAE, there is a strong sense of identity, but also an openness, an invitation to contribute, to build, and to belong,” he says. The restaurant features an ingredient-driven menu, drawing from Mediterranean, Levantine, Middle Eastern, and global influences that have naturally become part of modern Emirati life. Highlights include charred eggplant and labneh with pomegranate and za’atar oil, a refined fattoush with crisp pita and pomegranate molasses, and freekeh with roasted vegetables and tahini-lemon dressing. From the hot kitchen, saffron kunafa prawns, harees croquettes, and camel bites in golden vol-au-vent pastry reflect a confident local lens.
