If Thai food is your love language, we’ve got your next dinner plans sorted. Mekong at Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort has a whole new Thai-inspired menu, creative cocktails and DJ nights, bringing a taste of Bangkok’s food and culture to Palm Jumeirah. And there’s a special guest chef dinner worth marking your calendar for, too. Inspired by Yaowarat, Bangkok’s famous Chinatown, Mekong’s new menu puts Thai flavours front and centre, with influences from China and across Southeast Asia. There’s Laab Pla Salmon, an Esarn-inspired salmon tartare with mint, chilli and ikura, and Phad Thai Goong, featuring wok-fried noodles, prawns, tamarind and peanuts. For something heartier, try the Massaman Ossobuco with slow-braised veal shank or Kao Soi Nuer, a Burmese-inspired beef cheek curry with egg noodles and chilli oil. The bar has a new cocktail line-up inspired by the flavours of Southeast Asia. Highlights include City of Lights, with lemongrass, roselle soda and tropical fruits, and Dragon Wall Negroni, a twist on the classic with kaffir lime and oolong tea. DJs set the mood at Mekong from 8.30pm to 11.30pm, Friday to Wednesday, with music to carry the evening. Come hungry on Friday, November 6, as Chef Akkawin ‘Punn’ Pitrachart from Spice Market at Anantara Siam Bangkok joins Mekong for Rooted in Thailand. The one-night-only dining experience features a five-course menu celebrating Thailand’s four culinary regions, bringing together heritage ingredients, traditional recipes and contemporary techniques. The dinner is priced at Dhs495 per person.
