Pai Thai and Blue Elephant lock woks for a special four-hands menu

One of Dubai’s most popular Asian restaurants, Pai Thai has invited lauded and applauded Master Chef phenomenon, Nooror Somany Steppe of Blue Elephant to join their own esteemed kitchen for a collaboration of truly Thai-tanic proportions. Taking place between Friday October 16 and Saturday October 17, hosted at Pai Thai’s iconic Jumeirah Al Qasr location, diners can now book a limited number of spaces to experience either a three- or five-course tasting menu. This is a gastronomic gateway into dual hemispheres of experiential dining, forging the flavour fire of Master Chef Nooror and Chef Amara Mahayothee of Pai Thai. The set menu pulls firm favourites from both restaurant repertoires, resulting in a one-off culinary clash that is an essential Bangkok-bucket-list tick. And the experiences start at just Dhs395. Vying for your palate’s attention, will be naam dokmai a green mango lobster salad – and carnival of chromatic acrobatics – prepared with ingredients from Chef Nooror Somany Steppe’s native province; there’ll be an organic green chicken curry with that irresistible Thai sweet basil profile stacked against the rugged botanical, citrus scythe of kaffir lime leaves; and ribeye served with Blue Elephant Black Diamond garlic, GI pepper and a hint of truffle. There’s a jumbo river prawn tom yum steeped in fragrant flavour as well as history (being the traditional version of the aromatic soup served during the period of King Rama V in the late 1800s). And there’s some deliciously directed Emirati-inspired flavour detours too. Take the mung bean and jasmine essence date cake dessert for example, which arrives courtesy of a touching homage to Chef Nooror’s late mother. And then there is the four-hands masterclass. Available to book on October 17 (11am to 2.30pm) it’s priced at Dhs695 per person, which includes a three-course lunch and soft beverages; or for Dhs895 per person, the soft package is upgraded to a wine pairing. Benefit from the accumulated wisdom of two true grand Thai masters, learning invaluable insider tips, and getting-to-grips with essential SE Asian delicacies like yam som o, chor muang, gaeng phed goong and khao niew ma mua. Pai Thai, Jumeirah Al Qasr, October 16 to 17, three-course Dhs395, five course Dhs695, masterclass from Dhs695. @Paithaidubai
