The upcoming Christina Aguilera concert in Abu Dhabi has been cancelled. The pop superstar behind hits including Candy Man, Hurt and xx was due to perform at the Etihad Arena on September 25, but on Tuesday August 18, Ticketmaster confirmed that the concert had been cancelled. A message sent to ticket holders yesterday confirmed that they would receive a full refund, which will be processed automatically through the original payment method, within 21 days, per Gulf News. Christina Aguilera had originally been scheduled to perform in April at the Etihad Arena, but the concert was moved to September 25. The cancellation news came on the same day that Ofllimits Music Festival, which was due to take place at Etihad Park on November 21, also confirmed it would not be going ahead this year. The line-up for the music festival had featured headliners including Shakira, The Jonas Brothers, Biffy Clyro and Ne-Yo. A revised date for 2027 has not been given. Again, organisers have confirmed that all tickets will be automatically refunded through the original ticketing platform they were purchased from. While Christina Aguilera and Offlimits may be cancelled, there’s still some huge events to look forward to in Abu Dhabi. Morgan Jay kicks off a rib-ticklingly funny Abu Dhabi Comedy Season on October 11, followed by Russell Peters on October 25, Mo Amer on November 6 and Maz Jobrani on November 7. Music lovers will delight in the welcome return of Hans Zimmer on November 13, and Andrea Bocelli, set to perform on December 2.
