UAE weather: Highs of 48°C and chances of rain forecast this week

UAE weather: The heat isn’t letting up just yet, with temperatures expected to climb towards 48°C across inland areas this week. And there could be a change in the skies too, with humid mornings, hazy conditions and a chance of afternoon rain in parts of the country. Across the week, the weather in Dubai will hover from 41°C to 44°C with temperatures on Monday, August 10 even possibly reaching 45°C to 49°C in internal areas, according to a report by the National Center of Meteorology. However, we will have fair to partly cloudy skies with a chance of convective cloud formation by afternoon over some eastern and southern areas associated with rainfall. In Abu Dhabi, temperatures throughout the week are slightly higher, ranging from 43°C to 46°C. Al Ain will also see high temperatures this week ranging from 45°C to 47°C, even touching 48°C closer to the weekend. * The new UAE initiatives protecting workers during the summer heat * The heat isn’t going to last for very long. The UAE’s hottest stretch of summer is approaching its final phase, with a key date in August marking the traditional start of cooler conditions. The traditional peak summer season begins on August 11 and runs until September 3. This period is known as Marakhiyat Al Qalaid and marks the closing chapter of the region’s traditional summer season. But don’t expect a sudden drop in temperatures. The big seasonal marker to look out for is August 24, when Suhail traditionally becomes visible before sunrise in the south-eastern sky. For generations, the appearance of Suhail has been seen as a sign that the UAE is beginning to move away from the peak of summer.
