Get ready, Abu Dhabi, the internet sensation pop-up choir concept is coming to the capital this year, with shows taking place from September through November. Founded by David Conway, One Day Choir is a singing community for anyone who loves the simple joy of making music with other people. Every session assembles a fresh group of people who have never met before, to learn the choral parts of a great song and piece it together for a sonic marvel. No auditions or experience are needed, and nobody sits in an audience. Everyone in the room sings, and the best part? “Nobody needs to be a ‘good’ singer,” says Conway. With fond experiences of growing up with the joy of playing music, Conway started One Day Choir in Dubai in January of 2025 to bring together like-minded music enthusiasts to connect over their love of song. After sessions picked up popularity, he noticed many travelling from Abu Dhabi to attend the sessions, and so, due to popular demand, decided to launch the event in the capital this year. The first session One Day Choir session in Abu Dhabi is set to take place on September 6 at The Club, Mina Sadiyat at 10am. Each event is priced at Dhs150, and includes a live accompanist, the custom-made arrangement, a printed pack on the day and a practice folder prepared and sent in advance – in case you’d like to get familiar with the music. Your ticket also gives you access to a folder of professional photos from the event and a video recording of the final sing-through. Presale tickets for community members will go live on Saturday, August 15 at 12pm, with general tickets out on Sunday, August 16 at 12pm. Those interested in joining the community can register here. The event hosts a maximum capacity of 150 people, so be on the lookout as tickets might sell out fast.
